What does Crossroads do?

Many people with disabilities are able to live at home only because of the constant support they get from another person, often a relative, or friend.

There is always a danger that the system will break down under the strain and that the Carer will be unable to cope.

We provide practical support where and when it is most needed - usually in the home. A trained Carer Support Worker will take over from the Carer to give them 'Time to be themselves'. We talk to the Careers about how often they would like us to visit, how long the visit should be and at what time they would like our support provided. They then have time to use as they wish - to see friends, keep appointments, study, read or even just to sleep.

We also have a small night service which enables carers to have a good nights sleep.
